The tower remembers what we forget.

The heaviness of gravity (always), and the artist’s resistance. The yearn to fly.

The composer and performer band together in this endeavor, one a feather and

the other the wind

The carillon rings, not to be seen—look up!—but to be found

Calling, clear, insistent,

Reaching out across rooftops and courtyards. Somewhere in its echoes:

haze detail swallowing

delay shimmers stretching upward seconds

distortion pulses breathing

melody clouded, or rather the idea of she—

shoegaze: a blur you don’t just hear but live inside.

And in the silence that follows, where we begin to come down

In this wingful moment (brief), survived by whatever stays

You can always ask the tower
